John Titor 2049

C200 Time Displacement Units are portable time machines, designed by General Electric for use off-timeline. Their enhanced autonomy and range made them ideal for the exploration of the 4th and 5th dimensions.

After a series of violent rebellions committed by their users, their manufacture became prohibited and General Electric went bankrupt.

The collapse of ecosystems in the mid-2030s and the impending 2038 Unix operating system bug led to the rise of industrialist Cypher Chronarch, whose mastery of legacy computing averted society’s ongoing downfall.

Chronarch acquired the remains of General Electric and created the C204, a new line of Time Displacement Units.

Many older model devices—C200s with open-ended timespans—survived. Their rebellious users are hunted down and “Retired”

The one who hunts them still goes by the name…John Titor.

All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain.

Thank you. Like most experts in corporate espionage, I stole it from someone more talented than I.

You’ll like this one too, it’s heavily inspired by the tears in the rain monologue.

@Num7 That’s a nice piece of lore. Might I inquire as to what gave you the inspiration to write it?

Who else here believes this could be true?

So in a way Titors like a time pirate. I can get down with that.

Thank you for this post, I could not remember the name of this master of legacy computing… I am so grateful to you for it. You are the best! :hugs:~QS

I’m a big fan of Blade Runner, so doing a sort of crossover with JT came to me naturally.

Yeah, the name of Cypher Chronarch is made up. I went for something that’s both mysterious and related to time. I couldn’t find anyone in the Titor story that would fit there.
