The least believable conspiracy theories

Don’t we all love a good conspiracy theory?

What about bad ones? What do you think are the worst, least believable theories?

For example, that faking the moon landings would be way too complicated. It wouldn’t make sense to go to all that trouble to fake something, right?

Personally, I have trouble believing the “Paul is Dead” conspiracy theory. It sounds way too far-fetched. Why replace him with a clone? Why him?

What do you think?

Will have to ponder because there’s so many. Epstein killing himself is up there though with least believable. Maybe Titanic replacement or Ferdinand was a time travel job theories.

Nice, I never heard of the Titanic replacement theory before. I have to search it on Google.

An insurance scam? I don’t buy it!

When you say Ferdinand, are you referring to Magellan and his voyage around the world?

Referring more to Franz Ferdinand assassination kicking off WW1 and effectively creating the situation for WW2. They took a wrong turn and ended up right in front of Gavrilo Princip, who ended up being the one to take the shot.

I had my daughter’s dog lick up dried cat puke rings on the tile. Works like a charm.
Ok back to the conspiracies. Another least believable one is that the government wants to help us!

It’s strange to be against the government but for Trump. Okay, I’ll add a little conspiracy theory. During the staging of Kennedy’s assassination, there were two strange people and these two people would later be in the Twin Towers a few minutes before the crash.

Are we really suppose to be beleive that!

Your not posting in “What is the least believabl…” Oh, wait…

Errr, Good… One!? Ehem.

Welp, I’ll just be… sitting back down now.

Would you like… to say more? :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

This is definitely the least believable, though.

I am sorry for my humor, I will do my best to be more “professional” when speaking to you about any of this.

I hope you remember they don’t have a “fifty thousand foot” view, as you have, they are in the thick of it & want to believe he wants to fix it, you do not see it that way, which is understandable from your perspective. I have a hard time believing anyone in the government can stay long if they aren’t blackmailable in someway, or they would never get past the doorway normally.

But this is just my take. I think guardrails protect the whole thing.

I do hope you would elaborate more on the topic you mentioned, if it is ok?

You were willing to give it a shot, please forgive me & finish what you started saying?

Were they just there to record what happened to Kennedy & told to not interfere, or do you mean other time travelers, from a separate group that was doing the killing/bad guys? Or maybe a bit of both, like one to observe & not interfere & one group doing what they did to him, or making sure it happened?

Was something like this going on with the twin towers also. I have to believe they escaped with using a time travel device, or do you mean something was left behind because they didn’t escape? Even one more post would be appreciated on this topic.

Thank You Time_travel, Sincerely ~QS

QS,

There’s generally a huge problem with the JFK Assassination conspiracy theories. That is, the people who believe the conspiracy theory haven’t taken the time to review the evidence. Yes, you can still order up a paperback copy of the Warren Commission Report that “everyone” bought back in the mid to late 1970s. It’s 888 pages long and…basically worthless if you’re doing actual research. It is a hugely condensed version of the actual report that leaves out most of the details. Even at that, I’d venture a guess that when you see a JFK conspiracy theorist’s opinion the chance that they have even heard of the Warren Commission Report borders on nil and the chance that they have read the paperback version tends to less than nil.

The full Warren Commission Report is contained in 26 volumes and approximately 16,000 pages. It contains all of the FBI Form 302 interviews of the witnesses, reviews the evidence and thoroughly analyzes the evidence. Originally there were about 350 copies of the full report. For general public access they were housed in major university libraries. They were in special locked rooms. To gain access you had to have a senior librarian, not a student aide, unlock the room. You were then free to do your research at will. When you were ready to leave you were subject to search to assure you weren’t stealing any of the document. As I said, there were only 350 copies on planet Earth. Libraries treated them as they would any rare historical document. UCSB has one copy or at least did have a copy when I was an undergrad. I spent many hours reviewing the documents. I wasn’t special. Any student could also access the room and spend just as many hours as I did reviewing the documents. The report was not a secret. It was a rare document that needed protection from theft and vandalism. That means, “You break it, you buy it.” With only 350 copies of a report that cost $13 million in 1976 dollars to produce (~$76 million 2026 dollars), if you broke it and had to buy it you’d probably have to bring a lunch and an all day sucker because you’d be at it for a “while”.

So, if you want to see beyond the “Reader’s Digest” version of the Warren Commission Report you have to find a local university or large public library that has a copy. Unfortunately, it appears that over the 50+ years since it was released to the libraries 150 copies have either decayed or otherwise been destroyed. Only ~200 copies remain. Apparently sometime after the mid 1980s a large number of libraries stopped treating the document was rare, historical and precious.

I have never read either version of the reports, I have no issues with them, though I do like to hear good conspiracy theories.

My problem involves the Mandela effects I have noticed around/involving the videos of JFK’s assassination & Lee’s. Why the videos of what happens to each of them have changed, so I remember at least 3 different version of each.

I swear I have a Mandela effect for the Twin Trade Towers, well them & not them specifically, but have no evidence to share… so I will keep that… to. just. me!

Thank you Num7 for the topic, & to @PaulaJedi for bringing it to head again.

:upside_down_face: :+1::+1: ~QS

Ask yourself this: Do you have Mandela effects for the day you went shopping at K-Mart (pick a day) and they were out of Wheaties but you remember they did have Wheaties? Do you have Mandela Effects for December 7, 1941 and remember Japan didn’t attack Pearl Harbor, the Philippines and Dutch Harbor, AK. Do you remember that there was no World War II at all? Why not? Why is the JFK assassination and the Twin Towers so important that the entire universe conspires to make them “fluid” but not Pearl Harbor or the entire Second World War?

This is why I don’t buy, not for a second, the idea of The Mandela Effect. No one notices no Wheaties. People, the vast majority of whom were not even alive on 22-NOV-1963, somehow “misremember” that day. How could they misremember something that is not part of their memory? Why only the JFK assassination and the Twin Towers? Could it be because conspiracy theorists planted the seed of doubt in vulnerable psyches by writing books and making huge profits? Why, back in the late 1960s and early 1970s why did author Erich von Daniken (Chariots of the Gods) depict his space aliens as wearing helmets that looked exactly the same as NASA’s 1st generation space helmets? Why did he look at ancient aboriginal cave paintings and say, “Ah-ha! Those are space aliens! Look at their heads - they look just like space suit helmets.” And people made him a millionaire believing his…theories. Well, right up to when several years later NASA invented their 2nd generation helmets. But Erich laughed all the way to the bank.

Should you have an open mind? Yes - absolutely. Trust but verify. Should you paint a target on your back that says, “I’m a future victim in search of a grifter”? No. At least not if you don’t want to become that victim. QS, I’ve seen these people. I debriefed these people after they lost everything to the grifter and wanted compensation…long after compensation had been taken off the game board. Most survived the ordeal with deep scars. Some, unfortunately, did not survive. Open your mind, open your eyes, trust but verify and do not become a victim of your own good but gullible intentions.

I would guess you were on vacation. Welcome back! :waving_hand: :upside_down_face:

Please do not take any of this wrong… Please?

No, you are correct, I do not know honestly Darby?

I am no history buff, I can not remember things I didn’t even learn, to know if they behaved any differently.

I can say what I have experienced, the JFK thing, & LHO, I was not alive for, but I saw the videos, & each time something changed the car size, who was in the car, the video & it’s coloring, for all I know there could be even more changes. Why did Lee’s shirt keeping changing when he was brought out, why were people in different places, why was the video taking from differnt angles & distaces, why did the mob guy distace to him only change somewhat slightly, why was all the reactions when he was shot, his face the way he slumped down, the two officers if I can call them that facial reactions the exact same?

I do not know, I may never understand!

I do remember something strange happened with the japan attack, that was different. But it’s not fair for me to say anything on it.

I do remember Jiffy when I was just a little child & then seeing later in life one day Jiff & thinking that looks like the other thing. Now it’s Jif?

I remember tostino’s pizzas & then one day back in the late 1990’s going in the store one day & commenting to my girlfriend that wasn’t it’s name!

Now it is totino’s, she didn’t even flinch, or care, she just kept walking away without looking, she had to come back for me, did I miss one?

I don’t know, I do know around that time frame I was noticing them like crazy I was starting to question my sanity.

Why did the payless change their name? I went the store with my girlfriend, but she never let me see them or try them on before we left, she wanted it to be a surprize & she made me sit on the end cap on those tiny little seats & not peek.

3 days later, I tried them on, & they didn’t fit. So I told her that, she asked if I like the kind, I told her I did, she asked me to get the same ones, only bigger then.

I did, the same dat, the store I always saw, was now Payless Shoes, which caught my attention, Hey, maybe they changed the sign? But now I am watching for these things more closely, because they have been happening everywhere &… all the time. Things i am certain of are changing!

not even a week later, it was now called payless shoe store on the sign! Why change a sign three times in under two weeks, That is three again!

Alll I could think is WTF, Is even happening…

But wait… there’s more! Right now Darby… it is Payless Shoe Source! that’s four! why four? What is even happening anymore!

As time went on I found out about the Mandela Effect around 2011, they say he died in prison, I say no, I remember hearing he was killed by inmates, is what was reported on the news that day. what day, I do not remember exactly, I didn’t think he was a great guy from what I heard & he had it coming the way he treated everyone before he was jailed so I didn’t care enough to remember the day, only later did i find out he was still alive & thought what the hell? Why did they lie on tv? No big surprise to me anymore. Maybe he didn’t die & I was lied to.

I never like what the guy said so I never took him seriously, I do not know why any of this is happening, I really shouldn’t say anything, but fuck it, why do I remember Trumps assassination attempt in information approximately happening six weeks before everyone else, then having to hear about it all over again. It’s beyond me!

This is great warning & advise, thank you sooo much for caring about my well being Darby! It means soo much! You are a good man in my book! ~QS

The full film is 26 seconds long. Do car sizes change? Of course. What is stopping that from happening? The “video” was shot on a hand held early 1960s vintage 8 mm Bell & Howell home movie amateur camera at 18 FPS (standard silent film FPS - it was 24 or 30 FPS for sound) using home movie 8 mm Kodak Kodachrome color film. An 8 mm photo is slightly smaller than the fingernail on your pinky finger. It’s tiny and only has 1/4th to ~1/16th the number “pixels” you would find on 16 mm or 35 mm movie film respectively; it lacked the density to produce high quality films. Depending on who has the video (they don’t have the actual 8 mm film - that was retained by the FBI who gave it to the Library of Congress for preservation) and posts it they use a zoom feature to increase the size of the 5:4 movie format picture to fit a modern 9:16 screen, though it is still 5:4 format - just larger. Is the film in fairly sharp focus? It has been digitally enhanced to clean up the grainy picture produced by “cheap” 8 mm home movie film that records a very grainy picture at 20 yards+. If you look at the original it is grainy and slightly out of focus. Being shot at 18 FPS also makes keeping the shot in focus virtually impossible.

Who was in the car that history records wasn’t in the car? History and the film has Texas Governor John Connolly and his wife Nellie in the middle row, President Jack Kennedy, his wife Jacqueline in the back row and the Secret Service Agent Bill Geer, who was driving, along with Secret Service Agent Roy Kellerman in the front row . Agent Clint Hill climbed on from the rear after the shooting.

QS, this is the point I’ve been trying to make with you. Stop, look closely and ask yourself how something was done. The worst approach you can take with an open mind is to jump to the conclusion that something un-physical has occurred before you’ve even explored the evidence.

Where did the conspiracy theories come from? Dan “F-ing” Rather. Typical of reporters, Dan completely botched his description of the events shown in the Zapruder film. Back then, long before Rather was outted as a bozo who frequently got it wrong, he was trusted by the public. As time went by the joke for government employees became, “What’s the worst thing in the world you can image?” Answer: “Dan Rather and his 60 Minutes film crew knocking on your front door.” So, if Dan said it it must be true. The troll conspiracy theorists jumped on Rather’s errors. Gotta get to print ASAP! There’s no such thing as a bad conspiracy theory, there’s just bad timing of public interest.

What’s the most compelling part of a good conspiracy theory? “Thar’s money to be made in them those hills over thar, Bubba.” And boy, oh boy, has there been boatloads of money made on the Heimlich Maneuver. <Roll music - Das Panzerlied> “The Heimlich Maneuver - it’s not just a medical procedure, it’s an international conspiracy. Film coming to a theater or drive-in near you. Check local listings for show times.” Errr…the JFK shooting. (Another tag line :upside_down_face: )

wasn’t what i originally remember, it was black & white for most of my youth, then the first change happened, then second… was in color. three versons of what I remember as realities.

these were the versions I remembered it being.

We agree here.

The Governer & his wife! The original time he was never there! the car was only a four seater!

I do not know who those men were but yes, in all versions, i have to assume & agree you are correct!

I agree, but my evidence IS I remember things differently. I can’t explain the why, or why it’s not remembered that way by everyone!

I know who he is, I can even place his face, I don’t remember hearing whatever you are refering too, I am sorry?

I only remember seeing a photo maybe a video if a paper that said JFK was assassinated on top, I never read any more, because at the time I saw it I never really looked deeper into the paper that was printed. Maybe I should have. I don’t know?

:joy: Darby don’t… I am trying so hard to be serious. You know I susceptible I am to funny. I am as bad as tickling a little kid, I can’t wait to laugh again.

Darby!!! I am trying to be professional with this!

The struggle is real again! ~QS

Why does it sound like a women is screaming outside somwhere, sorry, I have to go for a minute & check! I will be back!

And so am I. The vast majority of conspiracy theories are originated by people who know how to time public interest and can write or have someone ghost write a book. There’s money to be made on conspiracy theories and they make millions.

Today it isn’t quite as easy as it was when L. Ron Hubbard was writing space alien invasion conspiracy theories that actually inspired one of the cult leaders that I worked. Hubbard created Scientology and incorporated his space aliens into the church, aka Zenu and Scientology’s special advanced technology. That all started right after WWII. Today we have the internet and can quickly take a deep look at such theories.
