What\'s your theory?

How do you think time travel is possible? I believe that if we can somehow harness the power of light, I mean the speed of it-not solar power- then accalerate we can reverse time. It is proof that while in the space shuttle at 17,000 MPH, the time slows down. BUt that also means, if your reach axactly lightspeed wouldn't that mean that time would stop for you?

Yes but it's not quite that simple. The speed of light essentially IS the 'speed of time'. If, for example, the speed of light was slower in the past...then time would ( relative to us ) have occured more slowly then.

This is only possible because photons have no mass, and thus are not subject to relativistic effects themselves. If photons had even the tiniest bit of mass.....the entire universe would suddenly slow right down and completely stop....forever frozen.

Conversely, for things that do have mass, as they reach the speed of light time slows down.....but their mass increases exponentially. It may not actually be possible to 'reach' the speed of light, because theoretically this would mean an infinite mass.

The is the reason why, although Einstein never specifically said ' you cannot travel faster than light, or even reach that speed '......to all extents and purposes he didn't need to say it as it is quite well implied in the theory.
