Oh yeah...
There's something I've neglected telling everyone on this board...
I am actually a time traveller from what you would know as 10,500 BC. We, in my time, built the Sphinx...check the star maps for Leo, you'll see I'm right. Don't listen to any of these idiots saying they are from the future! We knew WAY MORE science back in the past...stuff you are just about to re-discover between now and 2012.
People who say they are time travellers from the future are all liars, and they haven't read-up on what Hawking and others have said on this subject...

How often do these Time Guards check the timeline for 'violations'?
Consider this scenario...
Time Travel is invented in 2500.
The Time guards check the time line every 3 months.
When you go back from the future, 88 scans by the time guards will detect your journey.
Do you have to identify yourself each time?
See the problem?
Now consider this one...
Time Travel is invented in 2500.
The Time guards make one scan. A catch all if you will.
They will suddenly, at a single point in time, become very busy with all the traffic coming through this bottleneck.
By your own admission, the time line can be changed. Thus preventing one time traveller may actually cause another traveller in the future to take his place.
The Time Guards would be busy for an infinitely long time.
There is also the problem that a time traveller from your future could return to 2501 without being detected.
I would be interested to hear exactly how this time detection works for your time guards.

No dice, buddy. What you are referring to is a news story that has broken over the last 2 days. Several months ago, some guy in Wisconsin found a hole in Cisco's internet routers that could be exploited. Here is the CNN story from yesterday....consequently, it's the same day glugglug posted his "prediction".
Try predicting something specific that is at least a month away! God, how the quality of posers has gotten worse and worse!

JamesAnthony-it doesn't happen like that. when someone time travels computers detect the time trail coming from whenever they time travelled. The time guards of that time then go back in time and bring them back.

Someone from a future where space travel is standard fare, should not exclude the possibility that the future will change beyond their own imagination. What if a revolution occurs and the power to time travel falls into the wrong hands?

Time travel is in the wrong hands in my time. The government has tried to regulate time travel but satanists and other terrorists have built their own. That is one of the reasons why we have time guards.
They could not go to our past without the future knowing. Even if they transport from a distant planet we will still know about the time trail and try to stop them.

Do you know chrono what a T-line is? If you do you should know that tangential temporal jaunts are possible, specially with the resources of enterprising groups. If those time guards are out there how then do they track their time-line. Can they track more than one time line, if so how can they prevent the quantum signature of millions of untis from devolving into a non coherent stream of chronotons and sub-particulate outspinners when the scanned time line re-assembles into a proxy time frame? This assuming that you knew that a scanned time line ceases to be the same time line and becomes an alternate version of an non-replaceble reality simply by the insertion of the scanning outspinners. You should know this out of self-preservation, Every now and then you and your doctor should make quantum signature adjustments so that when you are born in the future your two signatures do not mingle and you won't go mad or worse.
And by the way, which part of England are you in right now, I was born on Exeter. I could give you some sight seeing hints.
