Director
Terry Gilliam
Terry Gilliam co-wrote, produced, and directed Time Bandits, a 1981 British fantasy adventure film. Sean Connery, John Cleese, Shelley Duvall, Ralph Richardson, Katherine Helmond, Ian Holm, Michael Palin, Peter Vaughan, and David Warner appear in the film.

Time Bandits is the first film in Gilliam's "Trilogy of Imagination," which also includes Brazil (1985) and The Adventures of Baron Munchausen (1988). All are concerned with the "craziness of our awkwardly ordered society and the desire to escape it by any means possible." All three films focus on these struggles and attempts to escape them through imagination: Time Bandits as seen through the eyes of a child, Brazil as seen through the eyes of a man in his thirties, and Munchausen as seen through the eyes of an elderly man.
