Just a suggestion. But I have noticed this site seems to be a spam magnet for posters that join just to spam the site. Perhaps a $1.00 charge for each new account may alleviate the problem. Knowing that the dollar is not refundable and will result in account termination for each spam attempt may alleviate the spam problem. If not, at least the spammer gets to pay for his spam.

Also make the dollar refundable after a probationary period for legitimate new members that merely want to join our small community.

At this point I am liking that idea, because it seems bots have gotten smart enough to solve the "type the word you see in this box" registration ruse.

Yeah, that is a good idea, Einstein. As it is now, if Raul got a dollar for each of the spammers that are registering mutliple accounts, Raul would be making quite a hefty sum of money.

Charging anything will kill the site. Turn on Captcha for new member registration and that will stop 90% of the spam.
