UFO case which occured in Boainai, Papua New Guinea in 1959

Temporal Novice
The Boainai incident is one of the most mysterious and fascinating UFO events in history. The year was 1959 and it involved one Father Gill and more than three dozen students in a missionary school. For nearly three consecutive nights strange objects were observed in the sky, with one large hovering object about a hundred meters above the ground, the object being about forty feet across. It was a circular shaped object, metallic in appearance, wider at the bottom with several portholes, that incredibly kept returning back every night very near the school. It stayed hovering mostly accompanied by two or more smaller objects higher up in the sky. Father Gill and his entourage (students) all watched it for hours. They saw figures emerge on top of the object getting engaged in some repair-type activity whose attention they tried to get by waving at them. To their surprise the figures that looked like “humans” to father Gill waved back at them several times. The astonished priest and his students also shook a flashlight at the object and the occupants, by which time the figures had left the deck, and the object started to make a rocking motion from side to side as if to match the swinging motion of the flashlight, and appeared to come closer and closer to the crowd below. It never landed though but had four landing gears that were visible to the entire group of people observing from below. It was clearly not a dirigible from all accounts, and appeared in such a remote area of the world, with landing gears, hovering characteristic for hours, and very fast departure speed from a relatively stationary state. The day before these amazing incidents one or more persons in their group had witnessed identical objects going by their descriptions. Father Gill made detailed documentation and sketches of the primary object and the occupants from a distance, and left us with numerous physical details and estimated measurements. After the third day the objects never returned. First of all there was no such aerial vehicle that we knew about back in 1959, and the occupants’ “human appearance” makes it even more mysterious though you could mistake “humanoids” for humans easily from a distance. The speed with which the object left was extremely fast from Reverend Gill’s description. There was no way this could be a reflection of a fishing boat every night for three nights, and ‘the reflection’ was waving back to the crowd below !! That is just not possible. Reflections do not interact, it is safe to say ! Till today we do not have any clue as to what it was, where it came from, and why it came so close to the school for three consecutive nights. It did look like as if the occupants were friendly and wanted to communicate somehow. It also looked like the occupants were at work on top of the deck either for repairs or some other unclear reason. This very strange event was investigated by the Australian government that tried to explain it away first but eventually could not, and listed it as “unsolved”(Papua New Guinea was under Australia back then). The US researchers got involved, and most notably Professor J. Allen Hynek, a renowned emeritus professor of astronomy from NorthWestern university who met with Father Gill and many of the surviving witnesses back in 1973. He found the descriptions remarkably consistent just as it should be in a collective encounter with details that could not have matched unless there was an intense collective sighting over long periods. Father Gill, the students, and the teachers were extensively interviewed back then in 1959 with remarkable consistencies, with sense of pure wonder and mystery. No photograph could be taken as there was no camera available presumably. Only his detailed sketches are there that have been extensively studied. It is one of the most unique cases in the history of unknown aerial phenomena, with presence of apparent humanoids in this case with a most remarkable collective close encounter.images (2).jpeg
