Has the "John Titor" thing been uncovered yet?

Hi. I’m new here. I happened to come across the John Titor story on Wikipedia the other day. I had never heard of it. I have to say I found it enthralling, and I spent the next few days reading all about it. It’s a hoax, of course, but a fairly well done hoax. What I’m wondering is has anyone definitively disproved “John Titor” yet? I mean, I know there have been any number of refutations based on physics, sociology, and the like. But I read somewhere that he had been unmasked. Is this true? And has anyone found out what the blueprints were that he claimed were his temporal displacement device?

Like I said, I think it’s a very compelling story. I’d love to know who was behind it.

Radio-Electronics was a magazine in the U.S.A.In 1974 a computer kit was shown on the cover in July that year.The inventor was called Jon Titus.According to what I have read about John Titor he was supposed to be looking in the 70’s for computer parts.Seems a coincidence that the names are similar and they both have an interest in computers.YOU ARE ALL PART OF A HOAX AND NOT EVEN AN ELABORATE ONE !

Sometime ago, I’m not sure of the site–if it was Time Travel Portal you are out of luck–someone examined the famous photo (it’s relative) of Titor’s instructor aiming a laser at the time machine on a Corvette’s passengerside seat. It purportedly showed the field of the machine bending the laser beam. But the examiner processed the photo to show that the faint image coming from the door next to the machine was not distorted at all.I can’t think of any reason for arguing that the photo was not a fake. Obviously if the machine could bend a laser beam it would distort the light from the door passing close to it. Actually, the curve of the so-called laser beam is not right, either. It would not be the kind of curve you would get by bending a plastic rod.I’d accept the above conditions as satisfactory proof that the claim cannot be true.

That is only the beginning. But why beat a dead horse?

I shouldn’t be saying this–it is sort of a secret–but the Titor advertisement is just a way of luring trolls to the forum where we can mug them

Although some of the messages are no longer available.

Titor was apparently based by a group in Celebration, Fla.

Many threads discussed the debunking of various means.

However, “Time Travel” and “Physics” was not the most plausible means of debunking lol

Some threads here should give some insight to those behind it who may still be here lurking

The other secret is that creative writers post stuff to show how physics geeks are mean nutballs And how they believe that discussing physics on bulletin board will bring “time travel” closer to reality… lol

If you are not interested in physics, you can skip the physics related posts. There really is no need to be nasty.

Titor’s message actually was a positive message whereas any person could try and change the future and for a lack of nothing better to compare it with – a negative future.

What I read at the Wikipedia and usually read is negative bias prejudice opinions. However, surely the world is that way as I read the News and listen to all the BS that comes from reading the News.

Now the new debate is the missile defense system and why it should not be where it may be located over there in Europe. What I do not hear is that missiles do not fly like a spaceshot into space, they are ballastic missile that fly in an arc. If I wanted to hit a missile with a missile defense system, first I would not have it where they are about taking off reaching a higher altitude, because I may end up chasing the rocket, and missing it with the missile defense system. That is my take on how missiles actually fly back down to Earth, and not into orbit like a Spaceshot.

Also the negativity on the picture that bends the laser beam, is that, Titor stated that the gravity force with the machine full power, and not on low power is only 2G’s. Hardly enough to bend a passenger door or anything else on a car. Impacting a car into a brick wall has a much greater G-force applied to it because of kinetic energy.

But also at the same token, all a person can do right now is say that a time travelling machine has not been invented.

But also in the News today, is a new German Particle Accelerator, that will be built by 2013 and focus electrons hitting super-x-rays.

Well, all very interesting, but I think a great many major points are still missing on deciding anything – sit up straight in your computer chair, and do not budge. The in-my-opinion radicals are again paranoid, while only usually considering his/her own person. I see no religion absolutely anywhere in any major religion, and Fearing God does not seem to be an excuse for relating any intelligent discussion, except for worn-out concepts of continuing on in SpaceTime by World Leaders.

And surely lately you would not want to eat China’s food or use their toothpaste.

Yeah, those who posted as having come from the far future are obviously pulling our legs. Of course, on the other hand, we should be open minded to all possibilities. I even posted as John Coke (as in Coca Cola) from the year 3000. I hope it didn’t post. Anyway…I still do believe we can time travel into the past, all joking aside, and change decisions we made. Now, what about this scenerio? Let’s say someone’s girl friend or boy friend is killed in the past either by some brutal act or accident…Could that be changed? This is difficult to tell. If it wasn’t directly caused by us, I’d think no. Why? Because if it were an act of someone else…we couldn’t change what someone else did. I suspect it would happen all over again in a different way. Also, there is the factor to consider of what the decision of one’s “higher self” or soul’s decision/perspective was regarding the incident. There is so much to consider. It is not all that simple. I think all we could possibly do if we were to go back into the past is to change things we ourselves have done and to make things better for those we have not been so kind to. And we all have choices we have made that we wish we had not. And yet…some may say…“all is writ”…as if it is all written in concrete, and we are merely fulfilling our blueprint that was written for us inbetween life times. Who knows? But then, if we have a desire to change what we’ve done…have you considered that this might be part of the blueprint also?

Yeah, the John Titor story…I like to get all the facts first. I have also heard from a lot of sources that it may well be a hoax with the motive to victimize people. I don’t know it this is true or not. I never want to jump to conclusions. But…we’ve got to be careful who we take up with these days…

I guess it’s the old fashioned way…we’ve got to find the way individually for ourselves. The points doesn’t seem to be to prove it to the world so much as it is to satisfy our individual desires to discover the truth in our own ways.

Wow. I’m not sure about anyone else, but I use this website for creative thinking and insight. There’s some pretty intelligent people on here…not sure why some people get so dramatic.
