I like the Rafael system. This one, not so much. The Rafael system appears to be effective against all incoming AT threats. The UK system only appears to be effective against HEAT (high explosive anti-tank) shells. AP (armor piercing) and APC/BC (armor piercing cap/ballistic cap) shot would be unaffected because they are straight up kinetic energy rounds as opposed to HEAT shells which rely on a shaped charge.

When HEAT explodes it focuses the high velocity "fire" and shockwave of the explosion to a point. The intent is to have the blast melt its way through the armor and superheat the AFV's interior to several thousand degrees while spraying molten spaul throughout the interior. The "fire" is actually a charged plasma caused by the chemical reaction of the explosion. A counter electric charge in the armor would repel the plasma. But it won't repel solid AP shot that relies on kinetic energy to pierce the armor.
 
It's not a "force field". It's a "high probabilty RPG detection/intercepetion" system. Did you know that USA employs 3 levels of missile defense fields, and they are shoddy at best? Also, Israel's iron dome only intercepts 30% of incoming missiles?
