Such interesting dilemmas arise when you think too deeply on some topics.
What would “L” have done had he been given the Death Note “book”, would he be like Light is, & would they switch places in the story now instead.
They are so much alike in many ways “even friends”, Ryukazi “L” assures himself he would never go so far as Kira “Light”… but did L have one?
What would happen had he gotten it instead & the power to do as you wish to dissolve bullies & evil peoples from the world of life… or any human no less.
How far would one go to not let it fall into someone else hands.
Where is the line you draw, were you given power of that like… of a lower case “god”.
i am certain if the death note were real… it wouldn’t be used as it would be… Like if it fell into a certain group’s hands… this wouldn’t be good… (yes the group you the reader are thinking.)
There are likely not many people in the world who would use it like Light would. However; those few would likely be unlikely to use it due to empathy. You would have to have some level of sociopathy in order to utilize the book. Or select the really bad people… which then would look awfully suspicious.
(my vagueness is key here.)
Think about it… what would happen if a large group of politicians would suddenly have mysterious deaths… it would not be fun… or in the other hand… a bunch of scientists… whom could be working on how to build time travel…
or worse… having someone go haywire and grabbing a phonebook and just writing names alphabetically… only for the sheer joy of it…
then there would be the skeptic whom would test this a few dozen times to finally conclude that they are not on drugs and the death god is not a hallucination of some lcd trip that they had accidentally taken a drink of at a party the previous weekend… then sets it aside after resolving this… only to continue being skeptical coming up with ways that it could have been debunked… what a plotline that would be.
i personally wouldn’t use it… because it would completely confuse any investigator that would try to profile this… UwU it would just instinctively confuse them.

it has been removed but I can give you evidence the post was very real, the kid claims they want to be like the Doom school shooters kids, even in a sense looking up to them, they wanted to do it… this year when the school year begins, they have everything they needed. They were uncertain if they would die by cop or do themselves in like the two did.
what if you were powerless to stop it any other way but this one gift?

Think of it this way; (which is another way of explaining on how not to change things on time travel.)
These tragic events are likely an inspiration for at least one person. Columbine school shooting inspired me to look deeper into how a young teen would come up with these ideas; aside from this; it also inspired me to not do the same as they did. In otherwords; we wouldn’t be here talking if it never happened. (I would be dead or in prison.)
Building on this structure; the people in power should have done something more effectively than just twiddling their thumbs. The people in power are the politicians.
Now look at how the politicians responded to each and every mass shooting since. Which are either gonna be “Thoughts and Prayers” or “We are gonna do everything in our power to do something to stop this”
We didn’t have this many shootings prior to Columbine… wait… no that isn’t true… the shootings were popularized through media coverage. In the mind of a shooter; it would be for the glorification. This justification of glorification comes from a lack of validation of a child’s existence. The parents are more often than not abusive and neglectful of their child… thusly they seek the validation in a means of where they get it… and that comes from various entertainment outlets.
The sole people who are responsible are the parents; and recently we have seen this take shape. However… let’s look at the numbers since we held parents responsible…
Essentially that would be filling the death note quite a bit. (i skipped the years of 2021-2023.) Remember what happened in 2020… quarantine. 614 shootings…
Now not all of these shootings included a death… and a few of them include many deaths.
Imagine if the news covered this tragedy in terms of glorifying the shooter over the loss of life…
This happened nearly 100 years ago.
then compare that with this… (notice how the kill count is glorified here.)
Just so you know; Columbine was initially gonna be a bomb explosion but that failed so they took plan b. Imagine how many more deaths would have ensued…
One thing about this is; the public has no idea the name of the mass shooter; until after the fact and after there is an investigation; and often times; they are likely very discreet about this due to the imcompetence of the real people in power to make a change for the last three decades.
Think bigger… who would be more likely a target for these things…
One group would go with someone like Mamdani, while the other would go for Trump. For issuing the name. It boils down to the holder of the Death Note’s morality of justice. While in this same light… a real instance happened… just in a more realistic sense.
Look at how things have shaped since then…
But the relations have been long standing.
All in all; it wouldn’t be our responsibility to write in a name of a person… (and giving up half our life just to see the name wouldn’t be wise either; unless we are already knocking on death’s door. Which then i would have a hayday writing names.
Now; the responses of the death of Charlie Kirk gives another means of feedback. No matter the political standings of a person; there are people who look up to the one’s who are dead. There are people who would equally be thankful for the person’s death.
If i had the power i wouldn’t write names of all the school shooters; i would write a lot fewer names and consider the consequences of what would entail.
You can remove a politician from office; though the ones who are really bad people who deserve their name be put in the book; would have a dozen more; and their followers would likely respond with a violent retaliation. Which would be way thousands of names at the end of it all.
This is how revolutions start as well… (when a dictator uses various means to amp up their followers and ostrasize the naysayers.) So; it really is an equal temperance of inspiration on both sides of the same coin.
In leau of my being a murderer after this; i would be reluctant to write even one name… Though i would love to write about 23 names. (you know me well enough to know which names i would write.)
Then again; some of those names include old people who could die at any minute… so it would just tarnish my soul to end someone who would pass away in a few months… due to being old.
I wouldn’t let my emotions get the better of me in otherwords.
I believe that family absolutely has something to do with this kind of issue.
The simple fact that alienation casues many issue with someone who is not strong enough yet in there own formation, you never know which path they will choose.
Light or darkness. It is a scary thing. But not all children form the same way. You could raise many children in the same ways, same blessings & still have different children. this is a hard one. But structure does matter, you need both discipline & love. Not cruel discipline, nor over abundant love. Again this is a hard one becasue you have children going up with neither & technology which also isolates. Context with/of how we learn matters.
Adults are there own issue, already formed people are much harder to yet change.
this is a problem all of it is own that is for sure.
I called it a gift becasue somethings are handed to you, but somethings are not a gift… at all are they?
it is how you use such things that determine whether it is a true gift, or… a curse against you.
