Amazing how you come from thousands of years in the future, and yet English still prevails, and not just any English but the exact English we speak in the here and now. Well, it even seems as if you were educated in one of the schools of our time, considering how terrible your sentence structure is. Education has been known to be going downhill in the Western English-speaking world here in our time. Can't wait to hear your explanation for this one.
Fairly obvious, this one. I learnt the language. The language I learnt as a child couldn't even be typed on one of your keyboards, because it uses a different alphabet.
Also, I'm going to assume Walmart is a shop here, why or how would a shop sell wormholes when there are already perfectly good ones in space? That would be really, really impractical.
Hello Tren from EarthTR125.0121 and questions will I ask!!!London, England 5392. That's approximately thirty three centuries into the future....something. I have two questions then; although I am ecstatic to listen to the answer of Rainman's question. My first question is what government is currently present in England by that date. My second question is the following one. Being a Time-Traveler from that era you must be overly familiar with Stainweiss-Donecken Theory of Concatenular Antetidirion Aggregation within Hyper-Polar Multiphasic Phase Shifting Temporal Manifolds. If so you must know its no big deal to answer the question I am about to ask you. (although you state you are no engineer or anything which is extremely suspicious for how an advanced civilization will send back a person with no knowledge of such an important tool.) What power source gives energy to your device and how is it converted into actual energy?
To clear up the engineer thing, I'm not here on business, I was never actually sent back by the government. I'm here on a sort of holiday.
Anyway, questions. The government of my time is essentially a democracy, at least in the United Western and European Continents (I'll call it the UWEC) which is a large governent which ultimately covers America, most of Europe, and Britain.
At the top of the pile is the President of the UWEC, who gets voted in, and they pass all the major laws, for example, in every country murder must be punishable by at least 15 years in detention. Going down there are four minor bodies which aren't exactly political parties but are a group of people who are voted in to deal with whatever their chosen sector is. These bodies are the Economic 'party' of the UWEC, Military 'party' of the UWEC, the Socio-Cultutal 'party' of the UWEC and the Medical 'party' of the UWEC. A meeting with the President and these four bodies take place regularly and serve to advise the President on matters.
Below them, all the rest of the people who specialise in one area (Economic, Military, Medical, Socio-Cultural) are divided in to four huge groups (I don't know specifically how many are in each voted-in body, about 20 but I could be wrong) that basically say what the voted in guys are doing wrong and how they should really have done it, while they wait for election day and hope that they get voted in instead.
Then imagine this for each country and that's the government system.
Question 2 - how does the Machine get its energy?
Well first up, sorry but I have pretty much no idea what the Stainweiss-Donecken Theory of Concatenular Antetidirion Aggregation within Hyper-Polar Multiphasic Phase Shifting Temporal Manifolds is so I'll politely skip over that and go to what I know.
As previously explained, the time machine works by breaking down itself and myself into atoms and then acting as a transmitting device to beam it and myself to a wormhole. What takes the biggest chunk of power from it is the simple fact it has to transmit something for so god damn long so while it and myself is being transmitted, it needs to sustain a source of energy that will enable it to continue transmission for such a long time. This energy source comes from these things called electrochemical cells. As I said, I'm no engineer so I don't know precisely how this works, however, you can buy small pods things in my time that, when fed into a hatch on the time machine, will begin to break down, creating a chemical reaction that produces electricity which is then fed into the rest of the time machine so transmission can continue. The electricity reacts with chemicals kept inside the pods and the reactions results in more chemicals which then react again to make more electricity... you see how it goes, eventually it will die down but it lasts for a hell of a long time.
In my time you can by pods containing all the chemicals needed, if you land in another time before they become available to be bought then, if you're lucky, your time machine will have a self-repair function where it will tell you what is the easiest source to obtain the chemicals needed from in that time frame.
